As salaam mu alai kum

Please help I need advice my husband and I have been separated for the past 6 months due to his infedilities we have been married for the past 3 years I have requested that he issue me with my talak but still has not he recently said that he will issue it my question is how long idah should I be in once he has given the talak as we have not been together for the past 6 months and there has been no intimacy between us?

Have you spoken to your Imam?

I am sorry he has been unfaithful. Insha Allah he sees how wrong he is. Is there nothing in you that can save your marriage? If you were to be sure that he would not do it again, if he were willing to try to save your marriage?

I suggest your first step be see your Imam about this. He may be able to help.
