I have bills to pay, but cannot be paid unemployment because its an injury. I also cannot get medical insurance to cover this injury because it was a pre existing injury. Help anyone.

So... you had this injury before you got injured? You said it was pre-existing.

Also important... what state is this employer located in... and what state did the injury occur? Also was you a full time or part time employee... or considered a contractor?

How do you know that the employer is exempt? Did the Workers Compensation agency tell you this, or did you take the word of your employer?

I would contact Workers' Comp. and see if there is a fund for injured employees of uninsured employers.

The injury was in Dallas the company was in Dallas I was an independent contractor. I been on the phone all morning with Dallas Bar Association and its seems there is no help out there not even for an attorney side. I call various Orthopedic Surgeons and some office visits range from $150-$300 a visit, being that I cannot work, it seems to me no one is willing to help.
