You could try taking all the covers off so you can see both sides of both coils and giving it a ((good cleaning)), this helps in many cases. Its not very often that a window unit needs to be recharged unless it has a leak, freon doesn`t wear out or go away. But at going in I would doubt if its worth the cost of recharging the cost would be high because if the rising cost of R22 refrigerant
