I am an AutoCAD 2004 user and wanted to know... how should I draw an object in architectural units with dimension of 11/18" or 13/27" etc. i.e dimension other than multiples of 1/8".

I'm pretty new to Autocad 2004 and I'm having issues XREFing. Every time I do it, I have to go to zoom extents because my maps won't be on the same plane. I've tried dragging one map to connect it to the other, but I can only get a part of it.
