How to fix a crack in bottom of tub which is causing water to leak from base of tub?
How do you repair a leak around the base of a bathtub? There is a 4 in. crack in the bottom of the tub. Could this be the cause of the leak?

What is the tub made of,

For many, it will be a new tub, a tub liner for some

If you have a 4"crack on the inside of the tub, you more than likely have a leak through the crack. Fiberglass?

Chuck nailed it! A tub liner or tub replacement. Good luck, Tom

Yep, duck tape just won't do it. And the crack will just get worst. And yes of course that is where the leak is coming from ( assuming it is cracked not just scratched)

If it is fiberglass it can usually be fixed, but it is much more difficult below the water level. I have had many fiberglass tubs fixed when repair is above water level, that were damaged during construction. If it is cast iron, it is either new tub or tub liner.
