Can I still be pregnant after abortion and iud?
I had an abortion at 11 1/2 weeks and they put and iud. The I've I was on wasn't put in right and felt the entire procedure so they kind of rushed through it. I still feel sick and I'm getting a baby bump. I had my abortion 2 1/2 weeks ago. Can I still be pregnant? I didn't think abortions could fail if they put an iud in immediately following the abortion. Please let me know if this is possible!

Most likely you are not. It will depend on what your cycle is like and when you had sex. When you get udi, your meant to wait for at list seven days before having sex. The best thing to do is do a test. That's the only thing which will make you feel reassured.

It would be very unlikely as they would be determining at the time of the abortion that all had been successfully removed. Are you scheduled for a follow-up visit?

I haven't had sex since. I mean that is it possible for the abortion to have failed even though they have put in an iud. My doctor is scheduling an ultrasound as she is worried that I may be. My follow up is in a few weeks.

See what happens with your follow-up, but again, there should have been an examination after the abortion to determine its success and whether another procedure would be necessary.

They kept me in surveillance to monitor my bleeding and make sure I can still walk from the meds that were supposed to work but didn't. They didn't do any examinations or anything.

They would have likely examined what was aborted to determine that the fetus was present. This should have been done. You could call and inquire about the results or just wait until your follow-up.

Since I was in so much pain they may have just wanted to get me out of the pain. I thank you so much for your help/advice on what to do! I will wait until my appointment to see what's what.

I had an abortion 7 years back, I'm planning to have a baby soon. I feel so worried because some say that you cannot get pregnant after an abortion, is that true. Please
