Is it OK for my nipples to bleed when I'm pregnant
I am 8 months pregnant and tomrrow 1 week, I was cleaning my nipples when I saw blood coming, is it just from me cleaning them? Also my mom says I should be leeking milk but I'm not that I know of, but I do have to clean them because they get like clogged. But also my milk is still clear? Is any of this okay??

You may notice a spot or two of blood due to hormonal changes, but when in doubt best to have your doctor check. Blood from the nipple can be due to a number of possible causes, some that would require further testing and treatment.

Some women will leak colostrum in pregnancy, others will not. It has no bearing on whether you will be able to breastfeed. You may notice a slight creamy substance if you gently apply pressure as if trying to express breastmilk (with fingers behind the areola, not directly on the nipple). This is colostrum or the first milk.

You really shouldn't need to clean them other than with normal bathing. Do not squeeze the nipples as this can damage them, which may account for the bleeding you have experienced.
