    I am working for a company that 1099's me do I need my own liability insurance or do I fall under thers

    If you are a sub contractor by most state and the Federal laws you are an independent company. This means that you have to have your own insurance, your own tools and you are to govern yourself and any workers you have. All the 'contractor' is required to do is to give you the specifications for the job/project and you sign a contract.

    This is the law in the US as a sub contractor.

    Yes, as a 1099 you do not fall under their insurance coverage, you should have your own liability ( or get a copy of theirs showing you or contactors as covered) my liability coverage for my business actually covers 1099 workers, but I pay extra for it.

    You are also not covered under their workers comp, will not have their health insurance,
    And you will be paying your full income taxes.
