Shut off the supply to the tank and remove the ballcock. Now turn the water back on. Is there a flow into the tank. If yes then open up the ballcock, clear out any trash that may be blocking the flow. Reassemble and test. Is it working now? Let me know, Tom

I cleared the ball and still no flow into the tank,so at the moment I'm feeding water from the hot taps into the cold taps to see if there's an airblock that can be cleared

Found the problem the pipe out side leading from the mains is leaking so there's no pressure,coming into the house so the water board is coming out to trace the pipe into the house and hopfully the leak isin the garden and not the hallway or the dinning room
