    Wash tub drain very slow
My Problem Is The Grey Water From The Washer Fills The Wash Tub Right Next To The Washer And The Tub Drains Very Slowly , The Water Is Almost To The Top Of The Tub. There Is No Clog In The 2" Pipe .after The Trap The Gradual Slope To The Existing Vent Is About 9' With A 90 Deg Bend.if A Vent Was Installed A Foot Or So From The Tub Trap Would It Drain Normally? Is The Reason For The Slowness A Vacuum That Doesn't Let The Water Flow Properly? Help , Ken Schultz

    Wash tub drain very slow
Code calls for the distance between trap and vent for a 2" drain to be 5" or less. I would be more inclined to suspect the line leading from the vent for a partial blockage. A partial blockage would let normal discharge drain but the discharge for a washer is not normal. The pump puts out a lot of volume under pressure in a very short time. However, it wouldn't hurt to cut in a tee and vent the wash tub. Good luck, Tom

Is That 5 Inches Or 5 Feet? Is That The Line Leading From The Vent To The Tub Trap?or Another Place? The Line Does Not Have A Partial Block As I Took It Apart And Snaked It . Thanks For The Quick Reply Is There Anything To The Vacuum Issue , I Drilled A Very Small Hole In The Pvc After The Trap And Stuck A 1/4" Tube Into It Just Barely You Could Feel The Air Flow Out Of This Tube When I Turned The Water On . Hi Ken,
Code calls for the distance between trap and vent for a 2" drain to be 5" or less.
    CORRECTION: That's 5' not5".
Is That The Line Leading From The Vent To The Tub Trap?or Another Place?
The pipe from the trap to to the vent.
The Line Does Not Have A Partial Block As I Took It Apart And Snaked It
Did you snake the line from the trap to the vent or from the roof vent to the main? I suppect the partial blockage is downstream from the vent.
Is There Anything To The Vacuum Issue , I Drilled A Very Small Hole In The Pvc After The Trap And Stuck A 1/4" Tube Into It Just Barely You Could Feel The Air Flow Out Of This Tube When I Turned The Water On
A vent pulls air into the line as it drains it doesn't push it out. Regards, Tom
