We have a Maytag Performa fridge with freezer on the side. There is ice buildup at the bottom of the freezer. How do we stop it ?

We have had that problem many times. The first thing to do is take everything out of the freezer, then get a hairdryer and wait till the whole thing defrosts ( if there is an ice buildup it could mean that it wasn't keeping the food cold any more to), then when it is done make sure there are no cuts in the wires or leaks( this has happened to me) if so I recommend duck tape or getting a new freezer. If there are not cuts or wholes in the wire it is safe to put the food back in. this happens to us because we have an old freezer and can't buy a new one at this time it happens every 2-3 months. (trust me it works)

I posted an answer on the duplicate post. You have to clean it to keep it working as I described or it will fail permanently.
