I have been using an unsecure wireless network site to access the internet. At times, even when the signal strength is listed as “good”, I am unable to connect.

I get a message that states “Could not renew IP address.” What is the cause of this and how do I prevent this from happening?

Also, is there anything I can do with my laptop to increase the signal strength that I am receiving?

Is this your wireless network or are you leaching?
If you are leaching someone may have blocked your MAC address

I guess I am leaching off either a local company or my apartment complex wireless site. If they chose to block me I would not think that at times I would continue to get access.

Could it be due to a weak signal and is there anything I could add to my laptop to increase the signal strength?
