Hi I would like to know a friend of mine is pregnant, she wants to relocate from her hometown to another town to give birth to her child but wants to give the child up for adoption, she wants to do it privately and not sure how to go about it, I informed her I don't know how and tried to convince her to keep the child but she already has two and said she won't be able to give the third child what she gives the other because of her salary. She said she would rather want her child to be with a family that can look after her child better cause she knows she won't be able to and don't want the child to suffer in my opinion I would rather suffer then do that, but she made up her mind. I feel so bad and don't know what else I can do to convince her.

Now I am not sure if I should help her, or should I turn my back on her she has always been a loyal friend to me but what she is doing is wrong, how do I handle this. And worse of all she does not even have a couple yet or anyone who wants to adopt the baby from birth,

What can I do how do I handle this

You get your friend into some counseling and support her choice.

It's not YOUR choice to make. SHE has to live with it, not you.

Judging her is only going to make her feel bad, it's not going to change her mind.

Help her find an adoption agency and help her through the grieving that will go with choosing adoption, but don't try to make her change her mind--only SHE can do that.

When any of your friends make a decision you don't like or don't approve, do you drop them?

I don't understand why you think you are qualified to be her moral guide.

It's not unusual for the child to be born, the papers signed, an adoptive couple to be located.

You handle it by either being her friend and supporting her decision OR butting out entirely.

If you think the baby is a good idea and she does not because she can't support the child perhaps it would be a good idea for her to have the baby, not surrender it for adoption but for you to help her pay her bills.

We are not an adoption site. Furthermore, I would not recommend that ANYONE use a website to connect with either a birthparent or an adoptive family. Too many people are willing to use the high emotions involved in adoption to scam others.

Please use a reputable adoption agency if you want to adopt.
