    Ink smearing
I have a Canon BJC-2100 printer, and until recently it worked great. My problem is every time I print something the ink smears in a line on the paper. I tried cleaning it, and putting in a new ink cartridge, yet it is still doing it. HELP!

    Help
There may be no single simple answer to your problem, except to call or email Canon Tech Support with this problem, they usually are fairly good about email tech support from my experience, and if you get them on the phone, it can be easier to correct the problem as it happens.

Also printers, like anything else can bite the dust at anytime especially if it's a yr. or more in age, and used a lot.

So without Canon to really help you out, it's hard to say what's causing it.

Just make sure it's properly calibrated and if it's a new cartridge, try canon or maybe try a new printer, so are so cheap these days.

    Canon ink smears
HI, you said when you cleaned your print cartridge, and even reinstalled a new one, you were still getting a smear? Did you check the rubber roller also on the printer where the paper rolls through? I have often found that sometimes ink or crud will build up on a roller surface and cause a smear. Try using a swab designed for cleaning electronic equipment and a good cleaner that leaves no residue. Alcohol is not a good choice it evaporates fast, but leaves a residue. It may provide a fix that can be inexpensive. Also make sure that the cleaner you use is NON-conductive. Hope this helps. :)
