    Blinking red light
My furnace has a blinking red light, pilot lights but blower nor heat turns on... blinking is not in any certain sequence. Pilot is electric. When I turn switch off and back on the light blinks once then stays off for a little while, but heat still does not work. After it has been on for a while the light will then again blink consistently...

Do you have gas heat or a boiler or what? My oil burner has a label with diagnosis instructions right near the light. The light is on when the flame is on and off when the flame is off. When the light is blinking, I call for maintenance.

What kind of heater is this? There are thousands of makes of heaters and many have blinking lights that all have different meanings. Sounds like you have a dirty flame rod in a central gas furnace that takes about 15 minutes to fix.
