I have a 5 year daughter who has been complaining of a tummy ache for about a week.
I have 5 year old who has had a tummy ache for a week. She says that her tummy hurts all over and it feels hot on the inside. I thought it might be constipation so, I gave her some a natural aloe drink, she went to bathroom. The next day she complained of the same thing. So, last night I gave her a tums it helped for awhile. I know she's not faking because she is rubbing her tummy in while she's asleep. Help

I'm wondering why you haven't taken her to the doctor, especially because her complaints have lasted this long. Only a doctor in person (not on the Internet) will be able to figure this out while checking her vitals and examining her.

I don't know why you're asking for help on line.

She's 5. She's had a stomach ache for over 7 days. You gave her a "natural" laxative. You gave her, a CHILD, Tums - did you read the label before you gave her the Tums? They are NOT meant for children.

    You know she's not faking.

Be grateful that it wasn't some sort of blockage and that the "natural" laxative didn't cause a tear or rupture and take her to a Doctor.

A week and you did nothing but self treat her? Sorry, but you sound very irresponsible.

If you're not a rn or lpn I don't think you should be giving any advice to anyone!

Um - you just quoted yourself. You don't have to be an RN or an LPN to have common sense.

So - have you called the Doctor or are you going to try another home remedy?
