I am a single working mother, my daughter father does not work. His parents suggested in financially assisting with our daughter. Do he have the right to sign over his rights of our daughter to his parents because they financially support when I'm a stable parent?

You can't "sign off" kids. They aren't puppies. He cannot decide where the child lives without your consent UNLESS he's the custodial parent and you are unfit.

What is the legal situation - Court Order re: custody?

He can sign just about anything. What legal effect that might have is another story.

In this situation, if he has custody or visitation right provided for by court order, he probably could sign a paper delegating those rights to his parents, or to someone else, for that matter. That would not affect the other parent's rights. But such delegation would be revocable any time he wants, in the absence of a court order changing the custody/visitiaton.

"Signing over rights" with respect to a child doesn't necessarily affect one's duty to pay child support.

There is no court order in this sutuation. I still don't understand how is that possible to sign over my child to his parents when I'm involved in her life daily. I understand grandparent rights far as visutation but I am a fit parent. If he wants to forfeit his priliveges that's on him but placing my child in the care of his parents without my conceit is beyond me

I already answered that - he cannot unless you are unfit and he can PROVE it. This isn't a puppy. It's a child.

The issue here is, there is no court order, without a court order often legally he has no obligation to pay you anything, and if on the birth certificate equal rights to have the child as you do.

He can not just sign over his rights, and not pay support, and his parents are under no obligation to pay anything to you at all.

You need to clear up custody in court.

I will add that signing over a child in exchange for financial support comes down to selling a child. Am I the only one who is shocked?
