My ex boyfriend bought me a car as a gift and now he wants to take it back.
Can an ex boyfriend take the car he bought as a gift for me cause we broke up. The car was bought on finance not sure what that really means, all I know it was bought and given to me as a gift and even registered in my names and insurance, taxs are all my responsibility. He insured himself on as a second drive to keep the cost down since his been driving for many years and this was my first car. Is it legal for him to do that?

To do what? Insure himself as a second driver? Sure, that's OK.

It may have been a gift to you, but if he wants to "take it back", and if he stops making the payments, it will be re-possesssed.

I know its legal for him to insure as a second driver. But Is it legal for him to take it back, as it was a gift regardless of how he bought it? Plus won't it ruin his credit in future if it was to be re-possessed. The thing is I wouldn't want it to go that far but his been very mean taken all the gifts he bought for me, includes mobile phone, clothes, even eye glasses. It's just sad that someone can get away doing mean things like this, just cause you are nolonger together. I thought a gift meant it belongs to the person that received it.
