I also frequently get paint/solvents and other chemicals (parcolene, and an idustrial soap) on my hands, face and arms as well as inhale the fumes from those. I took an EtG test and am worried I will fail. Do I have enough to fight it if its positive?

It is quite possible that you could fail an EtG test as a result of inhaling solvents that contain denatured alcohol and certain paints. Some hand cleaners also contain ethanol in high amounts.

There is a significant body of research that deals with inhalation of fumes and dermal exposure to hand cleaners.

If you fail the test you have a well grounded scientific basis for contest but that is where my knowledge ends. The legal procedures for doing so are beyond my pay grade. Sure someone else here can respond to that aspect of your question.

Ok, I'm sorry. I'm better now... Look. I believe you. If it was me, I'd give you another shot. But, your PO ain't like me. He's a COP. He LIKES busting people. He gets PROMOTED when he busts people. Being a NICE PO doesn't help his career at all.

Even if he WANTED to believe you, he has NO upside in doing so, and TONS of downside. Let's say you DID drink, and he let you slide. Let's say you kill somebody tomorrow. His career will be over, and he'll be sued for everything he's got.

Can it cause you to fail, yes of course, will the PO understand it, nope. If I was you I would be getting an attorney and trying to see if they can do blood tests or some other tests fi there is any failure.
