Ny------my grandaughter 14going on 15 in sept. is casualing seeing a 17year old, mostly in school, both have strict parents, they talk on the phone once or twice a day for 10 or 15 min.. they always have adult supervision. My daughter keeps saying that it is illegal for them to be seeing each other, outside of school. Does anyone know the real deal, if there is one.

Tell you what... that's a weird 17 year old if he's chasing after a 14 year old... there is a HUGE maturity gap in those three years... somethings really wrong if he can't find a girl with his own maturity level. That's not saying anything bad about your granddaughter... the difference is developmental and normal... and he's playing on the much younger girls ego to be getting the attention of the older boy... I'd don't think I need to elaborate more on the nuances of why... and what might be going on now if not in the very near future. And he's dangerously close to being an adult legally while she won't even be 16 yet.

Boys that age have one thing that occupies their mind... that wreaks terror in the minds of the parents of a girl that age.

Yes, I would think a grandmother would be happy to suport the mom, in protecting the poor 14 year old child.
I see no reason a 17 year old would want to have interest in a 14 year old child. Most would do it because they want to get them young and get them for sex early. ( may not be this person, but it is very likely)

They can not "date" unless both parents of the minor children will OK it. So it is illegal for them to date unless the parents of the 14 and 17 year old will agree.

There are strick laws that control the touching and/or sex.
