My sister is 8 1/2 months pregnant and has been sober the entire pregnancy. Until now. She binged and blacked out and detoxed at home by herself (very bad for 3 days). Will her baby girl be OK? She won't tell her Dr because she is afraid they will take her child away.

Anything she ingests, the baby does too. So my question is, why is she not concerned about her baby's health, rather just concerned about the baby being taken away?

How are we to know if the baby is okay ? Tell her to go to the doctor and be concerned about another human life.

She lost her son for 2 years and just got him back. She says she will lose both kids because the Dr will be obligated to report this to DCFS. I guess my question is... is the baby in imminent danger doing this once? The family is doing an intervention to get her into a program after the baby is born. In the meantime we are taking her to AA meetings.
