    Ceiling fan controller
My new ceiling fan came with a wall mount controller (3 speeds) and has aluminum wires. Where can I get a replacement w/ copper wires? Home Depot says they don't have them nor does the fan mfg. - Hampton Bay.

You will not find any with copper wire. There is no problem using the one you have with Al wires.

So I don't need to worry about the light (arcing?) that I see when I slide the controller lever down to turn it off?

I did not say that, since you did not mention arcing.

I am referring to the wire leads connecting to the building wiring in the outlet box.

The arcing you see is insdie the unit, has no bearing on the wire leads.

I will assume you have a defective unit and need a new one. If a new one arcs inside, then there is a problem with either all of the units, or what it is controlling.

Thank you. I'll see about getting a new control unit.
