Only a doctor can remove them effectively. I had planters warts, went the home remedy route and the over the counter medicine route. I started with one wart and ended up with a foot full.

I went to the doctor, had a treatment, and for a while they seemed to go away, but that doctor didn't get the roots, so they grew back. Second appointment, and I won't lie the second treatment (different then the first) hurt like bloody hell, and for 2 days I couldn't walk, or wear shoes, but it worked.

That was around 16 years ago, and I have never had another planters wart again.

My daughter had success with the Dr.Scholls plantars wart remover... You need to add extra adhesive tape to get the little pads to stay on for the three days recommended but between the acid in the product and the smothering affect by the tape we eventually got rid of the wart. Takes a long time, so you need to be patient.

I have to say, I tried those, and they didn't work for me. But, obviously it does work for some people, otherwise they wouldn't sell.

The only thing that worked for me is doctor assisted removal. I do believe he used acid. It was a long time ago, and I really don't remember, I only remember it being very unpleasant, during and after the procedure.
