How do I appeal an unemployment judgement
I was receiving unemployment about 3 years ago. The company took me to court-and due to not being able to take off work I was unable to attend. So here's the deal.. I was let go from my job because I was going through a divorce and needed time off. I let my manager the know the situation and that I felt unsafe and fearful to come in. I needed to take time (which I had plenty of PTO acquired) She then terminated my employment. I was collecting unemployment for 5 months and then the nightmare began...

So I am now in a better position financially and trying to clean up my past-I have this judgement floating over my head~~~Not sure if it's too late to do anything (3years old) but I am in a position where I can afford a lawyer. If there isn't anything I can do-will I be able to make payment or some arrangements to get this thing off-I just want this to go away. Judgement is over $5000

    Thanks,

I'm not understanding this - you received unemployment benefits for 5 months after being terminated. Your former employer then took you to Court for something or other.

You didn't attend Court and someone got a Judgment against you for $5,000.

Who got the Judgment and why?

" I can afford a lawyer" then you should hire one who will better understand your situation.
