Why is my Lexmark XS658de printer printing too slow?
Printer is about 1 year in service. Used to print very quickly. In the past week, it has slowed significantly. Any suggestions?

That looks like a workgroup printer. Is is slow for all users or just one? How do the PCs communicate with it? Wireless? Has something in your PC configuration changed in the past week? Is is slow to print the first page and then prints at normal speed, or is each page slow?

From my favorite geek show "The IT Crowd", have you tried "turning it off and back on again"?

The more info you can pass along, the better.

I do not know what an F4440 printer is, but I know how printers work.
    1. pull out the cassette that holds the paper, look inside with a flashlight for anything that may be in the way.
    2. Check for some type of flag that hangs down to sense the level of the paper
    3. if this is an older printer, the sensor may be dusty and think it is out.
    4. do not overload the tray with paper, there should be a line showing the max amount of paper loaded.
    5. install the old cartridges and see if it comes up with the same error. It may read the ink level first and you may not be able to get to the out of paper error.

Print out your config pages and then do a restore to defaults. You may have to enter some configs, but usually on these network type printers, they print at default settings.
