I saw a film on austrian TV a few years ago around the 30th September 2001 is there anyway I can check old TV guides to get the name of the film

Umm... I don't think there are that old TV guides.. Maybe you should email that TV station and hope for the answer (if you know the exact TV station)... Or better yet you should describe that movie - somebody might recognize it.:)
