My boyfriend and I started dating a year after high school and we went out for two years. Now during those two years, there was a lot of ups and downs and in the end we had to break up because my family wanted us to. Then after a couple of months apart, we got back together and started anew and he has really changed, he's now determined to find a job to support us so we can get a place of our own. Now there were ground rules placed if we were to get back together and he has slipped up a couple of times but is still the same. Now my family is saying it's my choice on what to do with my life (which I do know!) and to open my eyes to this relationship, which I see is nothing wrong! I really don't know what to do. I don't want to lose the people I love, my boyfriend and my family. Someone help me :(

By the way, I'm 20 living with my parents, attending college and he's 21 and job hunting and lives with us.

Okay I'll bite, why is he living with your parents?

Cuz we're starting to save up to move out and so for now we're living with them.

Ultimately, the decision on who you date is your's even if your family does not approve. However, many people would like the approval of their family on who they date. The decision is your's whether you want to continue seeing this guy or not and it is only you who can make that decision. You can't have it both ways. Of course you can wait to see if your family ever comes around to liking this guy but if they don't, can you live with knowing they will never approve of him? You're sort of in a dilemma, a lose lose situation if you will. You can't please everyone.
