The water turns hot when in cold position

Did you have the cartrdige out recently or has it alawts been like this?Please tell us what kind/type of spout this is.

If you pulled out the cartridge recently, you put it back 180 degrees out.

ma0641 nailed it! Remove the knob and rotate the stem 1280 degrees. Good luck, Tom

Most likely Tom but Wesley has never gotten back to us regarding when this started. Also may want to edit 1280 to 180
