    It depends on how the hysterectomy is being done. If it's transvaginal, then possibly.

    Were you told not to have intercourse prior to the surgery?

    No, I just let them know having sex was a little painful. I don't want to be embarrassed.

    Why be embarrassed? Everyone has sex, they've heard worse I'm sure. Heck, I'm an RN in labor and delivery and I've heard much worse!

    One has to get passed being embarrassed talking to their doctors about things that can be important to their health. This is there business and need your honest imput to properly treat you.
