First of all I would like to explain that I am American living in Malaysia and I have a traditional Asian bathroom. The traditional Asian bathroom has a toilet, sink and a wall monted water heat with attached shower head. When you shower everything gets wet, and the water drains into a drain in the corner. The sink also drains into this drain. Since I did not want a "wet" bathroom I had a plumbing contractor install a shower stall in one corner of the bathroom where the drain is located. This works okay, but the water doesn't drain properly, as there is very little gradient. The average Asian contractor doesn't understand the concept of a dry bathroom, like we have in the West. Is there anything I can do to add some gradient so the water will drain properly? Thanks.

Hi steveso and Welcome to The Plumbing Page. At AskMeHelpDesk.com. Before you installed the shower stall did the corner drain work OK? Does the shower stall drain terminate just above the corner drain or did the plumber connect directly to it?

What are you wanting to add more slope to? The shower drain or the drain in the corner? Are you on a slab or do you have a basement or crawl space? Back to you, b Tom
