You get your doctor to write a order for it to be done.

I understand your pain. The last few weeks can be horrendous. However, most facilities will not schedule an induction until the 39th week due to the risk of fetal lung immaturity prior to that week of gestation.

Chuck, it doesn't work like that. Even if a doctor writes "an order" the hospital has certain policies and procedures that can override/supercede a doctor's order.

To the OP... have you tried Tylenol every 4 hours? Warm baths?

The Longer the baby is in, the healthier it will be, so when you feel like you can't go through it any longer, take a deep breath and remember that. I was induced at 38 weeks, because my little boy was large enough and his lungs were mature, so they didn't see the need in prolonging the pain and discomfort. Talk to your doctor about it, and maybe they can check and see if your baby is okay enough to be delivered. At 37 weeks a baby is considered full term, so If you feel this strongly about it, I would talk to your doctor. I have been in your shoes and I know how you feel. If you feel you are ready and they feel the baby is ready I say go for it! Good luck, and best wishes in labor and delivery! Keep us updated

As was said, you are better off letting baby come on his/her own time unless there is a medical reason to intervene.

I know it can be uncomfortable towards the end, but your doctor will not schedule an induction at 37 weeks simply due to discomfort. It would be foolhardy to do so as inductions are not without risk.

Try the Tylenol... try warm baths... try a pregnancy massage... use a birth ball... try a heating pad... try counter pressure.

You don't have much longer to go... do your best to keep busy. Pamper yourself and spend time with friends and family.
