I have a leak in the hot water line between where it enters the slab at the heater to the master bath. It is a sizable leak, so I have to turn the hot water off when not using it. Our house is 30 years old, so I figure this leak is the start of things to come. Should I redirect the hot water to the attic or have a plumber repair it in the slab.

This is hard to answer without being there. The easiest and least expensive would be to repair the leak. However the plumber might find more problems with the old line. In that case it would be better to repipe overhead. It will all depend on what the plumber runs into. Good luck, Tom

What location are you in? If you live in an area that gets below freezing in the winter months, you can not run the water line in the attic due to the possability of feezing and breaking.
