Plumbing directions for converting floor drain outlet toilet to back outlet
Former home remodeler, and fairly capable on general plumbing. How do I convert floor discharge outlet to back outlet for Briggs toilet?

With much difficulty! The slab and the wall will have to be opened up. The wall will have to be beefed up to install the carrier and the plumbing redone to accommodate a rear discharge bowl. Now you can tell me why, when you already have a standard toilet already installed. Why you want the hassle and expense of converting to a wall hung toilet. Back to you, Tom

Thanks for the quick reply. I have slowly but surely been improving my deer-camp in East Texas. As it is a 12 x 80 mobile-home, the access to wall and floor is obviously a chore, but within my realm of doing, as a former employe of a remodeling firm with the entire gamut of make-ready, design and installation of granite counter tops, wreck-out, etc.

I have a grand-son who likes going to the boondocks with G-pa, where we have three wheelers, deer-stands, a deck under construction and all versions of bonding opportunities with OMOTMTN, ( old man of the mountain).

I understand one must use a rubber gasket for the rear-outlet toilet; any other advice. I appreciate the information, and warning.

    Regards, Allan

I live in a area with lots of mobile home factories and back in the 70s I worked as a line plumber in them, You still haven't given me a good reason for tearing out a working toilet for a wall hung. But all that may not be necessary once you open up the wall to find 2X 2"? Studs. Unless you build the wall out and beef it up you have neither the space for the plumbing and carrier or the wall strength to hold the carrier let alone a rear discharge bowl with a person setting on it.
Have you thought this out? We're not talking about a simple remodel job. We're into major construction and big bucks. And what do you plan to gain after all that lab or and expense>? You still haven't told me why you want to do this. In a house this would be major surgery, in a trailer it would be next to impossible. Have I given you enough reasons to forget about this project? I sure hope so, Good luck, Tom
