But my period was a few days before than it's actually supposed to be. It's very light and mostly a darkish brown colour. I'm really not sure what to think

Since you have been having sex, esp unprotected. Often the first period may come as a light one, so wait about two more weeks and do a pregnancy test, use the first urine of the morning.

Perhaps the next two weeks can be spent making plans in case there is a baby as to care of the child, and the such.
