A mixture of acid and water is 35% acid. If the mixture contains a total of 40L, how many liters of pure acid are in the mixture? How many liters of pure water are in the mixture?
If acid is 35% then 40L * 35% = amount of Acid. For water simply take 40L minus your answer for Acid or 40L * 65% to get your answer because 100% - 35% = 65%
Setup:
n + (n + 1) + (n + 2) = 15
... where n is an integer. Take it away, Wikki.
Is this a trick question? If they are mixed, neither one is pure.
