How would you handle being dumped on Facebook?
I was wondering how you guys/gals would handle if you were dumped on Facebook. Here is a short summary of my situation. I was recently going out with a girl from Zimbabwe last semester. She was really pretty and very sweet. Needless to say I had very strong feelings for her and was always doing my best for her. We were going out for 2 months before our Christmas break rolled around. She went back home to Zimbabwe and I went home to Chicago. Exactly two weeks into the christmas break, she dumped me over Facebook. This so happened to be the day after Christmas. I found out from a friend of mine that asked me if everything was okay because she saw on my Facebook page that it said I was in a relationship, but it no longer showed a name. Well I went on Facebook and saw that my girlfriend was now "single". She wrote me a inbox message saying how she felt we were two different people and she was starting to loose feelings. This was so out of the blue because everything was going great up until she dumped me. I was pretty pissed to see her use Facebook to hide behind to dump me. I felt very disrespected, especially after how I treated her very well. She could have called me, or at least texted me. We came back to school the second semester and she tried talking to me like nothing ever happened. Since the day she dumped me, I have not contacted her at all( which has been about 4 months). Ill be honest, it hurt pretty bad and I still think about her to this day. And its kind of hard because she is in one of my classes. She would say hi to me and tried talking to me, but I would just mirror her and answer her questions. That was it. She has been seeing someone else (whether it is a rebound or not I don't know) But Ive never really felt the need to show her any respect after she couldn't respect my feelings enough to dump me over the phone. It kills me to not be with her anymore and to not talk to her, but at the same time, I despise her for being so immature and cold. She finally took the hint and hasn't said much to me anymore. AM I HANDLING THIS THE RIGHT WAY?? OR SHOULD I BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE??

By the way, one day she did call me out in class by saying "hey chris, did you by chance notice how you only say something to me if I say something first?" I Just shrugged my shoulders and said yeah. At the end of class, she looked back at me and said have a nice weekend Chris.

Just say little, don't take time and talk with her, and move on with your life

It's unfortunate that social networks some times cause a breakdown in interpersonal communications. Fewer and fewer people actually speak to each other as much anymore!

Regardless of how it was done, it's done. You have done fine with limiting any interaction, she has taken the hint, so now as Fr_Chuck said, you just move on.
