I'm not really sure what is going on, but I started my period today... except its not really like one at all? I am 10 days late so pretty relieved at first when I noticed it. I use tampons, so just went about my day normally. A couple hrs after it started I went to use the bathroom and there wasn't really anything on the tampon but really thick slimy bright red gross stuff came out. Not clots, but I was just disgusted. Like I had to try to push it out of me. I'm pretty freaked out but I'm not sure if I should be. Normally periods for me are light and last maybe 4 days. I'm not on any form of birth control, and happy with that decision. Last month when it came it was also late but only lasted a bit over a day and was barely even there. Advice please?

All women experience off periods at least once in their lives.

I have to ask, are you sexually active? If you are, and you're not using birth control, then pregnancy is a possibility. Have you tried a pregnancy test?

Other then that, there's really not much anyone on the internet can tell you. If this is a huge concern then you'll have to see a doctor.

Yes I am. Long term would be married but he has a large debt and doesn't want to pass that on.. almost clear too yay! Lol but I did wonder that.. took hpt Sunday and showed negative. Im just concerned... its like after with no actual bleeding
