Hello this is my first question on this site hope I ask it so that I can get some help.

I have a tea cup Yorkie and she may be sick. Me and my wife had to leave town for two days so we had her in a kennel of a good friend. When we returned we noticed that she sounded different here are her symptoms, she sounds very different almost like she spent two days doing nothing but barking. She does not sound like her self at all. And she has very runny stool. She also goes to the bathroom a lot more that normal. But she does not act sad or mopy. I have a one year old son that loves to play with her and I am concerned for both of them Please help. Thank you for your time and answers.

Is this the first time that she has boarded and been away from your home and family?

No but it is only the second time.

I work at a clinic where we also board, we have a few dogs that bark the entire time they are there, and they will get hoarse. Keep a good ear if she develops a cough it could be ITB or kennel cough.
Some dogs will also get a stress diarrhea from being away from home. It is more common than people think.
If she has been properly dewormed and kept on a heartworm prevention that also helps to control intestinal worms then this is likely the case and should clear up in a couple of days.
Small frequent meals would be best for her, it won't overload the digestive system like 1 or 2 larger meals.
If the diarrhea doesn't clear up you may want to take in a sample and have it tested to make sure there are no intestinal parasites.
I'm getting ready to turn in but will hang around for a bit if I can be of any more help to you.

No it is not the first time it is only the second time though and it was with the same kennel. Both times were two days. The first time we noticed no change when we returned home.

Thank you so very much and sorry I am so slow with my response I am still trying to figure out how to read my answers you have been very helpful. I will keep a close eye on her and listen for a cough.

Given that every thing else is normal for her, activity, appetite, attitude I wouldn't be to worried.
Give her a day or so and make sure she is eating and drinking.
I've never used it myself but I have heard honey is useful for throat irritation, before giving it to her I would give my vet a call to make certain it was OK for her.
And if you have more questions there are a lot of knowledgeable people here more than willing to help out.
