My husband wants to adopt my kids. Their father has been out of the picture for over 5 years and pays no child support and isn't listed on their birth certificates as their father. Yes its possible. But the courts will still require that you make a good faith effort to get his agreement. You need an attorney to process the paperwork. The attorney will tell you what you need to do have the courts approve the adoption.
