What size wire do I need to run for a 100 amp garage panel
I have what looks like #2 wire. I want to know if it will handel 100amp service to my garage. The wire is copper braided counting outside sheating it's around a 1/4" in dia. I can't make out the number, maybe it's an 8. It did have 60amp breaker hooked up to it. I had a not electrical garage fire and it ran my pool pump an garage lights and outside lights. It was a sub off my main 200amp service.

Well, the description of the wire is not very helpful. You really need to get the numbering on the cable. I will say, 1/4" diameter dos not sound like it is large enough to serve as a 100A feeder.
    Also, what does this mean:
"I had a not electrical garage fire and it ran my pool pump an garage lights and outside lights."
