Boyfriend doesn't want to live together after 4 years but yet wants to buy me a home
He says that buying me a home would be an investment for the both of us in our future. He has 3 teenagers at home & I have 3 10, 8 &5. He has always said he wants to live together & wants 2 marry me but now when it comes down to me having to move in the next few months he has now said his son who is 17 has been challenging & thinks we should wait. His son is not a bad kid, a little mouthy but I feel as this is an excuse for him not to have us move in. He wants all the commitment in a relationship, says he wants to marry me but why does he want to buy Nevada place, I would pay what I can afford & he will take care of the rest... I tell him I don't want to rent from my boyfriend, he gets mad & says it would be an investment. I feel like he's side stepping & wants his cake & to eat it too. If you say you want to marry me, want us to be a family, have more then enough room, then really what would u want to have me living somewhere else for & say in the nxt few yrs after his son leaves we can live together.

You are right as its HIS investment, and you are a tenant. Stay independent, until you get married and then share his investments as a partner, NOT just a renter.

This arrangement works great for him, and you too, unless he decides to raise the rent. He is DIVORCED right?

I completely agree, no wedding, no move-in. Play it safe.

Part pf marriage is making compromises and it sounds like he is too stubborn to do so. You should re consider him

What about YOU buying the house and have it in your name, and you be in control. If you want to buy a house.

It is of course not uncommon for a couple to decide not to move back in together until the children are grown, or order. I did not get with Toni , till my youngest has turned 18 and moved out of the house.
