I purchased new bathtub which has integral overflow. I need to install new p-trap
Should I install p-trap under the bathtub drain and continue pipe to drain opening which is not far from tub or should I install p-trap where it was before which was in front of openning of drain? What is proper way to do it?
Is there any picture I could look at?
Thank you very much for your help.

New p-trap for bathtub with integral overflow
We have purchased new bathtub with integral overflow from American Standard.
We have to install ABS pipes and assemble p- trap because there is not brass drain assembly without overflow vent.
American Standard does not have any technical support you can ask questions.
My questions are:
1) Can we install p-trap immediately under the bathtub drain assembly following tail piece. Old p-trap was on the opposite side in front of drain opening which is in cement bed little 3" about floor.
2) Are there any rules we have be aware of?
3)How to unglue old piece of ABS elbow left on the drain pipe I need to clean to glue a new piece.
Thank you very much sir for your help. We really appreciate it.
