in Michigan can you sue for pain and suffering when you get bed bugs at a hotel?
this big mess began when when I moved into a hotel on a weekly basis.about the second week I started itching, and after a few days with no relief I went to the doctors who determined it was bedbugs. I went back to hotel and asked manager
if bedbugs were ever an issue she denied they were, when I showed her the bite marks she didn't say much or show interest in inspecting room. I returned to room looked around didn't see anything. Two mornings later I awoke to find a bedbug
moving away from me. I squash that one, pull matress away from wall and can see
multiple bugs . I call mgr see shows up with husband and they pretend to be surprised when I show them the bugs.
they gave me black trash to put my clothes into , after that they weren't much help.

so I went to small claims to sue, it was forwarded to district court, I've been to the
pretrial, the judge sent it to a case evaluation.

just before the pretrial I found out through freedom of information act that the daughter of the manager was sent home from school for bedbugs the very week I moved in, the report also says the girl exibited the same symptoms earlier that spring. I have other compelling evidence that I could explain later

I asked for $2500 plus court costs, but my out of pocket expenses aren't that much ,and clothes and items I threw away are valued at about $600.

can I ask for some of the rent back , costs for traveling to the hospital, for laundering my clothes, I 'd like to inflate to amount to arrive at $2500

recently I was told that in district court I can't get money for pain and suffering,
only in circuit court. They say I would need to substantiate the entire $2500
    in an itemized tally.

any help would be greatly appreciated in clarifying the Michgan law or help with ideas to beef up the amount that can be recovered. Thanks

Well, I for one am not going to advise you on how to fraudulently "inflate" your claim.

And I suspect that the stuff you threw away wasn't worth anything like $600 either. You may have difficulty proving it if it's just your word against... nothing.
