Long story short, got into it with husband, cops got called, walked through house and deemed it hazardous because it was piled up with laundry due to the washer being out for a month.
I'm asking if I can pretend I'm not home and avoid escalating any situation. I know that if I refuse them coming in that they will find it suspicious, but I want more time before they get here. I want to get the clothes caught up, I need to buy a camcorder so that I can record the ENTIRE event, and I want husband who is out of town to be home during the procedure.
I parked in the secondary spot in the driveway, cleaned the car in and out, brought the carseats inside, and made sure that everything that is visible through windows is super clean.
Would they automatically think that I'm ignoring them if they came and no one answered? What happens when they come and no one is home? Do they leave a note, keep coming back, stake out your house?
Please get back with me asap... there's so much contradictory information online that I don't even know what to think.

All you would be doing is delaying the inevitable. Eventually they will camp out on your door until you have to leave the house. And if they find out what you were doing it will go harder on you.

Yeah, but I'm not concerned about eventually, all I really want is about a week longer so that I can have all my bases covered. I've read so much about how terrible they can be, I want a witness there to sit with them if they want to interview my child... I want to video the entire meeting so that they don't twist my words or events... I want my husband to be home from work... I'm just wondering if they'll jump to conclusions the first time - maybe 2.

They will think you are not answering the door. They are even likely to watch for times when you may come or go to come in. They will assume the worst. They may also get a court order in a couple weeks of no entry to allow them to force entry.

And how long does it take to clean your house ( one day) pile all dirty clothes in car and go clean them ( what you should be doing anyway. If it was so bad for the police to call Social Services, there is no excuse to be nasty.

So go though and do all your laundry today, go though with trash bags and throw any trash out today, and guess what, they can come in tomorrow without a issue.

I agree with Chuck. If you don't want them to think the worst, then don't give them any reason to. Hiding from them will give them reason to.

Well, apparently you can ignore them. She just left a note on my windshield. My brother told me he's sleeping with a chick who worked for them a couple months ago, and her best friend works for the judge who handles all of that, so she's going to get it waived for me so that basically I don't have to worry about anything. Still going to take advantage of the maids coming to do the house though! Teehee

Also, I just brought all the clothes over to a friends house and I'm going to pay them to clean them. The rebellious little thing that I am says, "HA! Shove it CPS! You wanna tell me I HAVE to do something? I'll just spend my husbands money and get someone else to do it!" Oh to the darn.

Where do you live that sends in maid service?
I would beware of taking it. I imagine it sort of seals the deal that your place is unfit, in terms of how CPS keeps records.
You can buy a tiny point and click camera that takes videos for cheap, or get a used one on eBay.

We didn't say you couldn't ignore them knocking at the door. We said that doing so can have consequences. And this friend of a friend who knows someone business may backfire on you.

I suspect hearing from you in a few months asking for help on getting your children back from foster care. And our answer will be to use your husband's money to hire a lawyer.

My mother-in-law is a CASA who works with the court system and CPS. Going through with this friend of a friend who works for a judge will most likely land you in hotter water than you are already in. Judges and CPS don't take kindly to manipulating the system.

Look, CPS wants you to keep your kids, they don't enjoy taking them away from their parents. But it's up to YOU to provide a healthy atmosphere for them.
