    Thc in urine
I hadn't smoked pot or in the same room when people r smoking. I supposably had thc in my urine. Could I have got it from kissing someone and if they had a thc candy? What if I could smell it even though I was in another room? How long would it take for me to have a cleen drop? I now am not around people that smoke.

Second hand, sidestream smoke from marijuana very seldom rises to measurable levels in urine. Exposure would have to be intense and prolonged. Would not occur one room to another.

What THC candy? Interestingly, from 1860 through 1900 the most popular candy in America was Maple Hashish. I'm not familiar with any contemporary products but any candy or food stuff would probably have high THC content. Usually far above that in smoked products.

To the best of my knowledge there are no studies that involve transmittal by kissing. I suspect however that, similar to the second hand smoke, the contact would have to have been intense and prolonged.

If you had detectable THC (cannabinoids of any type) in urine there should be a record of amount and would have to be above 45 ng/mL. The length of time it remains detectable is very much related to amount and frequency of use. One time exposure should be gone within a couple of days.

I wasn't near when it was being smoked and yes thc candy my friend had and it already dissolved in his mouth when we kissed. The people testing me didn't or couldn't tell me of how much thc. I'm not wanting to b dirty at all. How long do u think it will take to get out of my urine. I wasn't in the second hand smoke at all.

Given the totality of the circumstances explained, I doubt that kissing caused detectable levels of THC or related metabolites. Regardless, in order to determine elimination time it is necessary to know the amount detected and history of consumption of the tested party.

Cannabinoids are strange molecules... detectable one day and not the next... then detectable again*

Were you previously a heavy user of MJ? If so this might be more easily explained.

    Ref.
*Goodwin, 2008. This usually applies to heavy users. Not incidental exposure.

No it was just one time. I had migrane and my boyfriend smoked and said it would help. It did but chose not to have anything at all affect my urine. I can't believe I even had it and my urine

    I'm stymied.

Given that you were not advised of a quantified (how much) result, it is probable that the test was an initial screen by immunoassay (IA). Either positive or negative, and unconfirmed. In other words an actual false positive result could have been created by the test.

That is more likely, based on my experience, than the possibilities you advanced above.

I agree with you, given the circumstances described, I can't believe you had it in your urine.

Let me aggregate the facts: 1) you have smoked marijuana on one previous occasion, and 2) your next association was via smelling same from another room, and then 3) kissing someone that had a dissolved "THC candy" in oral mucosa (saliva)? One of, or combination of factors, led to detection of THC in urine?

If my interpretation is incorrect in any manner, please advise. Otherwise I am as confused as you are, but will be happy to further assist you in getting an answer. Cannot however predict elimination of an unquantified substance of any type.

I will try to find out the level. How can a test have a false positive? I had given hair one month ago which proves that I don't have constant drug use. Thank you for your help.

False positives are errors. The sample could have contained pure water, iced tea, toothpaste or old socks and would still have registered positive for THC. A mis-fire.

Just between you and I, a hair test is not going to pick up marijuana use even in quantities far above what you describe. The testing agency is probably not aware of that however. So it's a very valid defense.

Get the quantity and we'll work on elimination but it should be long gone. I suspect that there will not be a quantified reading. It was simply an immunoassay presumptive positive finding that was not properly confirmed. But let us know and can work from there.

Iced tea? I drink ice tea all the time its called mio you add it to water. Do you think that could have made a false positive?
