Motor had stuck valve, fixed that got motor started spitts gas out of carb when running full throttle.

I gather B&S and the exhaust valve. That is the usual 5 HP and the valve that commonly sticks. Usually varnish or buildup on the valve stem. Two things, in unsticking it you could have slightly bent it stem making for poor sealing, or the valve seat may be loose in the block with the same and different poor sealing properties.
