Wife changed status from H4 to F1 - Can we efile?
My wife was in H4 in 2010 and we file jointly as resident aliens and we didn't efile at that time as we applied for an ITIN. In December 2011, she changed her status from H4 to F1. I am wondering if we can efile this year as resident aliens (married filing jointly) or does my wife have to sign and mail anything. I would appreciate your response.

    Thanks.

Yes, you can file joint return as residents.

    MukatA,

Thanks for your quick response. We received a 1098-T from her school (she started her Masters in 2011). It shows her name and fees billed, but it has have her ITIN or SSN. Should this be enough evidence to claim Tution credit.

    Thanks.
