    Leech bed septic system
My leech bed has two halves separated by a valve. I used to have a piece of PVC pipe coming out of the ground where the valve was so I could switch it back and fourth. The PVC pipe is now gone and I can't locate the hole anymore. If I were to use a metal dedector would there be metal inside the valve to detect. If not what would be the best way to find it. My tank cover is above ground.

If your pipes are PVC a metal detector won't help.
Take a probe rod and track the discharge pipe to the valve. Good luck!
I'm curious. What's the advantage of having a valve instead of a manifold? Seems like extra work and bother to me. Can you explain? Back to you, Tom
