Ive been wanting to join the Marines for the longest, but my worry is that I won't get a education (degree) while I'm serving? Has anyone gotten a degree whie serving in the Marines or know anyone who has? Any advice? Thanks.

You don't get a college degree while serving in any Armed Forces. However, After your enlistment is up or even while you are serving in certain areas, you can go to school and have the US foot the bill. A recruiter can explain this to you better than I can.
Some colleges may even give you credit for certain training received while on Active duty.
Not to disagree completely, but the services have college programs for members on most bases, and there are many online programs for active duty soldiers. But you can most certainly start your college program while in the Marines.
Also there are some really great ROTC programs that you may want to look into.
I will be in active duty. Ive heard of people doing online classes and such while in active to get closer or finsih a degree. But I want to talk to anyone who has done it or know anyone who has.
[QUOTE=ScottGem;3080174]What I meant was that you don't get a degree just for serving. You have to take college level classes on your own time. But certainly, the Armed Forces do encourage and help members with an education.[/Q
Ok, yeah I was like hold up?haha yeah I know my supervisor was in the Air Force he got close to finsihing his bachelors in 7 years. But the air force is totally different from the Marines.
Thanks for all the good answers.
