Hey guys. I'm trying to come up with the name of something I saw on TV in the mid 90s. It was a live action (I believe movie) that aired on the disney channel (also a guess, but pretty sure. It was set in space or in the future, it seemed spacey, and starred a bunch of teenagers or early 20 something's. At some point they commanded mechanical vehicles/robot things that I remember looking similar to the at-st from star wars. I do remember one particular scene where they were in a room with a floating head (maybe hologram) and a bunch of jokes were made based on the floating head. I know it's not very much info, but I've tried to track this movie down a number of times over the years and have not been able to. Anyone remember anything like this or better yet the name. Some of the details may be wrong or slightly off but I hope something rings a bell. Sorry for the long question but I tried to be thorough and I really want to know. I'm guessing it was made in the late 80s or early 90s.

Sounds like Power Rangers. Certainly mechanical monsters and a floating head in that.

That sounds like ice pirates from 1984
They had a man with a floating head when it was knocked off his body. And robots that were metal color
It was a comedy-scifi movie

Another movie I thought of was The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and the floating head was robin williams but had no robots

It's not power rangers, I was a big power rangers fan, but I'm sure it reminded me of power rangers in some ways. That's probably why it stuck with me. Space Pirates is possible, but nothing in the trailer struck me as instantly familiar. Anyone have any other ideas?

I thought they were younger. I was only 7 or 8 when I watched this so some of the jokes like that probably fell flat on me. Can I ask you; in Ice Pirates, did they ride in the robots that you saw? Also, I remember they landed on a planet or arrived in a town that had something like a market going on? If I saw the head scene I would remember it for sure. I don't think anyone famous was in it. I would have known Robin Williams, so I don't think it was your other suggestion. I thought it was a little bit more dramatic than funny. May be a misperception because of my age at the time though.

It was Hypernauts. Wow! Thank you. Apparently they cut the first four episodes into a movie. Can't believe someone else remembered this show. I had begun to think I imagined it.
